Temple Bar TradFest Dublin 

The Temple Bar Tradfest is now in its fifth year and is one of the most anticipated events of Dublin’s cultural calendar. Held between the 27th and the 31st of January the festival promises to be a celebration of all things traditionally Irish. Last year the festival won the Best Traditional Festival of 2009, and this year there are plans to grow further. The festival will take place in Dublin’s Temple Bar area, which is one of the oldest and most historic parts of the city. The area offers a fantastic atmosphere and so is a great place to hold this event.  

A number of venues located through out the Temple Bar will host the many events that have been laid on to entertain as well as inform visitors of traditional Irish culture. High quality live music that is guaranteed to take your toes tapping will be heard through out the festival, with many acts practicing for months prior to performing. Out on the streets pipers who will provide music to gee you along through the day and night will greet you with their merry tunes. Other events planned include a craft fair and cultural workshops, which offer a great chance to further, immerse yourself in the delights of Irish traditional customs.  

For those with a passion for photography the Nutan Photo exhibition will be showcasing some great works that will inspire and reflect the spirit of the festival. Outside there will also be movies being shown on the Square. If dancing and singing is your thing then you will find it hard to stop once you start to visit all the bars and pubs and listen to the great music. A pub trail has been designed to help you make the most of what is on offer throughout Tradfest and is a great way of making sure you don’t miss out on any of the ‘craic’. When you get hungry the restaurants of Temple Bar will tempt you with scrumptious dishes that have been designed just for the festival.  
You will be able to sample a great range of culinary creations giving visitors and locals alike a great taste of the best of both Irish and international cuisine.
